Ainodake 3089meters climbed 2002-07-07

After hiking all day it was getting close to sundown & I was getting desperate to find a place to sleep. I was going up a ridge, the wind was fierce & there were no flat places to sleep. The ridge was knife edge & nothing but rock. On both sides the earth just fell away 1000s of meters. I was starting to get worried. Then I spotted the perfect place, flat & out of the wind. Slept like a log.

The wind was so fierce I had no hope to set up the camera for a self timer picture, at 6:00am there was no people around to take my picture so I had to settle for a picture of the sign without me.
